Red Ribbon Week
  • Monday, Oct. 27 is Media Blitz/Wear Red Day
    Students are encouraged to wear red shirts.  They will be able to use their own devices to take pictures with various props during their lunchtimes.  These pictures will be posted on SMS's social media pages #loveyourselfsms.  Please encourage students to "Friend" SMS on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 28 is Teacher/College Day
    Teachers will show support to their Alma Mater by dressing in their school colors and students will be given the opportunity to ask them about their college education.  Various fight songs will be played throughout the day.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 29 is Tiger Day
    Students and teachers will wear black and gold to show support to our TIGERS!  We will have coaches, former students, and current athletes visiting with our students!  We may also have visits from local mascots.
  • Thursday, Oct. 30 is Professional Day
    Students will dress in the profession they wish to pursue upon graduation.  Teachers will dress in SMS's dress code . . . as STUDENTS!!!
  • Friday, Oct. 31 is Decades Day
    Since drugs are "Old School," choose a decade and dress up!
  • 4-H: Cotton Boll & Consumer Judging
    Practices will be held at the Varner 4-H Clubhouse from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.  The Cotton Boll & Consumer Judging Contest will be held on November 4 in Lyons, GA.
  • 4-H Juniors - Peanutrition Contest
    Recipe is due to the 4-H Office by Monday, December 1st.  The contest will be held at the 4-H Clubhouse on Thursday, December 4th.
  • 4-H Portfolio Time
    It's time to start working on your 4-H Portfolio to participate in Project Achievement in January!  The first draft of your portfolio is due to the 4-H Office by Monday, December 22.  The final draft is due by Thursday, January 8, 2015.
  • 4-H Senior Fall Forum
    This year's Fall Forum conference will be held on December 13-14 at Rock Eagle.  The theme for the weekend is "December Classic."    The deadline to register is December 1.  The cost is $75.00.
